Juanita Bynum appeared on Good Morning America and talked about the situation between her and estranged husband Bishop Thomas Weeks.

When GMA’s Robin Roberts asked Bynum about an abusive first marriage, and her seperation from her second husband, Thomas Weeks III, she said, “My first marriage is something that, he repented for what he did, and I made a vow that I would not talk about that situation because it was over 20 years ago.

“I think right now my focus lately has been on why have I allowed this kind of behavior for a second time,” she said. “I’m really focusing on my own healing rather than looking at the faults of the individuals because I can’t do anything about their actions; I can only do something about my own.”

“I believe that spirituality needs to be used in a proper manner, to the degree that we forgive and we pray, but by the same token, you have to take the responsibility to remove yourself out of harm’s way while you’re praying,” Bynum said Wednesday.

Weeks’ attorney, Randall Kessler, said he was contacted by Good Morning America Tuesday night for a comment on “our position on the current status.”

Kessler released a statement saying, “We have suggested private mediation, or even a settlement conference to expedite resolution, and to prevent any unintended miscommunication or leaks to the press. Unfortunately, it is becoming more and more apparent that Rev. Bynum wants to keep this matter public and to expand her career and public persona by doing so.”

Juanita Bynum Receives Invite from Oprah for Obama Fundraiser!!!

Looks like GOD is definitely showing his working hand in turning tragedy into a positive! He is sovereign! Oprah has put the call to Bynum and invited her to the extravagant fundraising event for Presidential hopeful Barack Obama only for the social elite that will be taking place at her 42 acre Mansion in Montecito CA on Saturday. That is a big deal and what we call a good look on Oprah’s part to invite Mrs. Bynum to something of that magnitude. Bynum’s publicist says that “Bynum is hoping to talk directly with Obama or members of his campaign team about national domestic violence concerns.” GOD can use situation good or bad to elevate whomever he chooses to a new level. Great for Juanita Bynum!

In other reports accused wife beater Thomas Weeks lawyer has said that Weeks “hopes he doesn’t end up getting a divorce.” WOW! Is it us or does that just sound backwards! Like what do you expect a woman to do after you allegedly choke her and throw her to the ground and start A Town Stomping on her!!! Juanita Bynum Gives Lawyer Go-Ahead for Divorce Proceedings.

Here is what Prophetess Juanita Bynum had to say in an exclusive interview with Fox 5 news in Atlanta regarding the future of her marriage…

“I’m not crying just because I was kicked or I was choked. There’s more to it than that for me. I know that scars heal, but I lost somebody that I loved very much. I know people go through this saying I loved him. No, I love him,” said Bynum.

Bynum said she will probably never stop loving her husband, but the pastor and accomplished author said she was finished with what she called an abusive marriage.

“My love for Bishop Weeks I don’t think will ever die. I said this to someone yesterday, my love for him, separating what I experienced in that parking lot, I have enough love. It’s so much until I think I can marry him twice, but this one is over,” Bynum said.

Bynum said she gave her attorney the go-ahead for divorce proceedings last week. Bynum admitted she thought the routine blow-ups in their near five year marriage were normal initially.

“This was not the first time that we had had a physical altercation. It’s never been to this degree, never. Shoving. He’s never physically drawn a fist back and hit me, but it’s been pushing and shoving,” said Bynum.

I appreciate the comments shared by my wife on yesterday and likewise share my forgiveness towards her and wish her all the best. I also have had time to reflect on the events of the last two weeks. And I would encourage all who have already judged me to be aware that there are two sides to every story.

Because I initially believed this was a private matter, I refrained from making any public statements about the situation. Even during the negative press coverage and media hype that has surrounded this case, my legal counsel has recommended that I reveal my side of what happened that Tuesday night only at the appropriate time.

Nevertheless, one thing I would like to make very clear to all who will listen, is to share my sincerest apologies to the every Christian, and especially to the Global Destiny Church Family, Sons, Daughters and Partners for having to endure this ordeal.

Because of the method in which this was handled just hours following the situation, it has not only hurt me, but has damaged the reputation of Christians around the world. It is for this reason, that I continue to trust in God while the storm would try to engulf me. Finally, I’m asking every Christian to pray that God’s will be done.

Minister Juanita Bynum Recovering After Attack…

A nationally renowned televangelist and author who preaches at a Queens church was assaulted in an Atlanta hotel parking lot by her estranged husband during a meeting to reconcile, police said.Atlanta police said Thomas W. Weeks III struck Juanita Bynum, who has homes in Hempstead and Waycross, Ga., at about 5 a.m. Wednesday, beating her badly enough to require medical treatment, said Atlanta Police Officer Robert Campbell.”They were talking about a reconciliation. They got into an argument. In the process of the argument, her husband walked out to the parking lot area, turned back around and started to choke Miss Bynum,” Campbell said.

 

“As he choked her, he pushed her down to the ground and started to kick her and also stomp on her,” he said.

Weeks left the parking lot. Bynum, who was bruised around her neck and upper torso, met with authorities yesterday at an undisclosed location to press the charges, Campbell said.

Amy Malone, a publicist for Bynum, said, “She was not in a fight with her husband; she was attacked by her husband.”

Campbell said police have obtained warrants against Weeks on aggravated assault and terrorist threat charges, both felonies.

Weeks, also a minister, founded Global Destiny churches.

“I am currently recovering from my injuries and resting well. There are so many great things happening for me in my future, and so much to look forward to concerning my destiny, this too shall pass,” Bynum wrote on her
